My artistic practice draws upon an eclectic mix of media and styles as the means by which I try to explore and understand the world around me. The sculpture I make is site relative offering an intuitive response to an environment, drawing attention to, and creating an awareness of, the surrounding space. I’m interested in the spaces between, the points of intersection. The join between two walls, the point at which floor becomes wall and architecture meets artwork. The work I make seeks to address the ways in which we map and classify the world around us in order to understand it, and in doing so offer the viewer an altered perspective on the space they inhabit. The sculptures I create are a direct response to an environment drawing on the architectural detail of the building and referencing the cultural and historical meaning of the space, while attempting to provide a means of visually navigating that space.
