I am interested in the cross over between the beautiful and the repulsive and their equal powers of seduction. My work centres on the elements of desire. Freudian theories and surrealist creative mechanisms such as; mad love, psychic automatism, the absurd, games, play and all forms of free association are used to highlight the psychic drives and physical thresholds of the human body. It is a seductive meeting of the sinister and playful so that familiar images adopt ambiguous and dream-like characteristics.

My methodology follows its own set of rules and relies heavily on its creative and intellectual surroundings. Drawing acts as a tool to retrieve information of experiences passed and is used as a process of remembering or validating my own existence through line.

The wall drawings are a play on ambiguity. Using repeated lines and colour I want to confuse our perception of space and metaphysical opposites such as light and dark and organic and industrial. I want the viewer to become aware of their own frailty and strength.

I have brought in psychological pathologies, biological systems and medical processes to form complex narrative structures.
